This Heart & Crown armchair is a replica of a second one I measured at the Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford, Ct. The likely original maker was Thomas Salmon of Stratford, Ct. Maple, painted in black milk paint with splint seat.
It is shown in pl. #1884 in 'Furniture Treasury'. 1984. Hartford, Ct.
