Form the upper interior. These boards are 18" wide, not glued up. They must all be the same radius. After sawing the circumference I use my 19th century adjustable compass plane to smoothen the surface. It has the ability form a concave radius as well. An 18th century circular wooden plane would not be adjustable. >
