With the exception of parts that can be turned on a lathe, before molding machines were developed, all, and everything with curved or serpentine shapes had to be carved!! The pictures above show my penciling of the shape, the radius face of the marking guage for scoring inside curves, and the filed knife edge for slicing my marks, also, the right image shows that scoring and the radius shape more clearly. The following photos will show the process. Its not difficult, just patient and careful work. >
