After chiseling to the exact depth for each moulded section I've drawn arrows to show (you) the grain direction to carve in for each part of the design. A straight chisel is used for most of it, then a small and medium size gouge for the ogee shapes. You must take care in making the shavings even and the depth consistent. Here again I will sand to finish the ogee shapes. A small spoke shave will radius the inner bead. Its not that time consuming, about five hours each, there's just no room for error at this point.
