These are the chisels I need to carve them. Most are old, some are newer. The rosette seen is 3" in diameter. The very small gouges are needed for the small rosettes surrounding the shell and on the stop fluted pilaster inside the door, which are only 1 5/8" and 1 1/4" in diameter. The sweep (curve) of the chisel forms the design. I begin at the outside, finish that section and work toward the center.
