Cupboard / Wardrobe

This cupboard is made with 18th century white pine as well. It has a door that I matched from the original front doors of my clients home, the Warham Williams House, (J.Frederick Kelly, p. 21 & 111) formerly in Northford, Ct., built in 1750. The Woodbury blacksmith shop forged the hinges, I face filed and decorated them. 1986. In J. F. Kelly's book the picture shows the front doors as having rectangular and square panels. They are replacements. There was one original door found and used as an interior bathroom door. I saw this house on its original sight in 1976, before ,during and after it was carefully dismantled by the 18th Century Co. of Durham, Ct. and reconstructed in Roxbury, Ct. Ironically, it turned out to be owned by who would become my best and dearest clients to this day !! There is much of my best work that I've made for them on this website. We have a shared passion for this period of material culture, what fun ! I've been blessed to have a few 'once in a lifetime clients ' like this. There could be something to this Karma thing.
